Meet our doctors!

We have six veterinarians on staff at McKinney Animal Hospital. Together they represent over 70 years of combined experience in the practice of veterinary medicine. They all strive to provide you with the best medical care available for your pet, whether it be at our facility or through a referral to a specialist. They are here to help you maintain your pets’ health and enjoy their companionship for many years to come!

Michael Bloomer, DVM

Dr. Bloomer grew up in north Texas and returned here to practice veterinary medicine after he graduated from Texas A&M University in 1981. He opened McKinney Animal Hospital in August of 1983. He was the sole practitioner at the hospital for many years, but has now been joined by five other veterinarians. Dr. Bloomer’s professional interests included canine and feline medicine and surgery. He shares his home with his wife, a Golden Retriever named Charlie, and a Labrador Retriever named Wyatt. He spends his free time with his friends and family. You see him pictured with one of his feline patients.

Ewa K. Cissik, DVM

Dr. Cissik has been an associate at MAH since April of 2002. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology from Texas A&M in 1995 and earned her DVM from A&M in 2000. Her professional interests include canine and feline internal medicine. She also volunteers on the Animal Services Facility Advisory Committee for Collin County.

Dr. Cissik moved from Poland to the Dallas area with her family when she was a teenager. Her move was quite an adjustment but allowed her to pursue the educational and career opportunities that her parents had envisioned for her.

Dr. Cissik lives in McKinney with her family which includes a very energetic pit bull terrier. She spends her free time with her family enjoying sporting events, movies, and the outdoors.

Dr Frye

Michelle L. Frye, DVM

Dr. Frye is a graduate of the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, class of 2003. She also completed her undergraduate work at Texas A&M and is a proud member of the class of 1998.

Dr. Frye resides in McKinney with her husband Mo, her sons Dylan and Derek, her dog Callie and numerous dying house plants.

When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling, camping/hiking, reading and taking her dog to the park. She also loves to bake which makes her very popular with the rest of the staff of McKinney Animal Hospital. Dr. Frye is also an avid chocoholic and can be easily won over with treats of chocolate chip cookies and truffles!

Dr Jenny Olczak

Jenny L. Olczak, DVM

Dr. Olczak is originally from a small town in western Michigan. She began pursuing her dream of becoming a veterinarian by attending Michigan State University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science in 2004. Dr. Olczak then attended veterinary school in 2005 at Ross University on the beautiful island of St. Kitts in the West Indies. After 3 years in the Caribbean, she moved to Oklahoma where she completed her clinical year at Oklahoma State University in 2009.

Dr. Olczak moved to Texas in May of 2009 and practiced in Frisco for 3 years. She joined MAH in June of 2012. Her interests in veterinary medicine include preventative medicine, client education, and surgery. When not at work, she enjoys traveling, boating, and spending time with her yellow lab, Derby.

Dr West

Lindsay West, DVM

Dr. West was born in Dayton, Ohio but moved to Texas with her family at age four and grew up in North Dallas. She knew from a young age that her passion involved working with animals and spent her summers in high school and college working at various small animal, equine, and specialty hospitals in Dallas, as well as the Fort Worth Zoo. Dr. West completed her undergraduate studies at Columbia University and attended Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine for veterinary school. Following graduation in May 2011, she completed a small animal rotating medical and surgical internship at Oregon State University.

Dr. West moved back to Dallas in 2012 and joined MAH in July of 2012. Her interests in veterinary medicine include preventive medicine, critical care, diagnostic imaging, hemolymphatic diseases, and client education. In her free time, she enjoys watching sports (Go Rangers!), baking, running marathons, rock climbing, and spending time with her husband, Travis, and two Labradors, Laila and Charlie.

Dr Sarah Petraitis

Sarah Petraitis, DVM

Dr. Petraitis was born and raised in Albany, NY.  She graduated Cum Laude from Cornell University with a BS in Animal Science and a minor in Biology in 2007.  She then went on to receive her DVM from Cornell in 2012.  During her undergraduate and veterinary school career, she spent several months in Kenya and South Africa doing research in conservation biology and working at a baboon sanctuary.  She worked as a veterinarian for four years in Alpharetta, GA at an AAHA specialty hospital before moving to Texas.  She and her husband, Brandon, now live in McKinney with their four German Shepherds (Achilles, Barron, Ada, and Farah) and two cats (Kala and Brie).  Dr Petraitis has formal training in cardiac and abdominal ultrasound and in laparoscopic surgery.  Her professional interests include internal medicine and abdominal ultrasound.
