We’re here to care for your pets

We have a well equipped, clean hospital waiting to meet your needs for veterinary medical care. We take great care in having a comfortable space in which to treat our patients. We try to provide a calming environment for your cats and dogs by having Feliway and DAP hormone diffusers throughout our building. Feel free to look around our nooks and crannies.

American Animal Hospital Association Accreditation

We pride ourselves on providing caring, quality medical care to our patients. We have sought and gained accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) to make available the highest standard of veterinary care to our patients. We hope to meet and exceed your expectations when you bring your pets to us.

AAHA logoDid you know that the AAHA is the only organization that accredits veterinary practices adhering to the highest standards of veterinary care? McKinney Animal Hospital is proud to hold the distinction of being the first animal hospital in Collin County to become accredited by the AAHA. The evaluation system developed by AAHA is comprehensive and practices are regularly evaluated to ensure that standards of excellence are met in every area of practice. The process of being awarded accreditation is not easy and is totally voluntary, but it’s a goal we all agree is well worth our efforts. Please visit the AAHA website to find out more about the association’s standards for accreditation.

McKinney Animal Hospital

Dr. Michael Bloomer established McKinney Animal Hospital in 1983 and the practice has been growing ever since. McKinney Animal Hospital was the first practice in Collin County to qualify for the American Animal Hospital Association accreditation. In 2005, the practice was incorporated and is now known as McKinney Animal Hospital PA.

MAH signThe first location for the hospital was on US 380 in McKinney. The second location was at 1824 W. Virginia Street in McKinney. Due to the fact that the practice grew and there was no room for expansion, Dr. Bloomer built the current facility and McKinney Animal Hospital moved to its new home in 2001.

Dr. Bloomer and McKinney Animal Hospital PA have had the privilege of serving and being a part of the McKinney community for over 30 years.
